Animated Video of the ICONIC Song Dynasty Scroll

The famous Song Dynasty scroll, also known as China's Mona Lisa, is called "Along the River During the Qingming Festival". It was done by imperial painter Zhang Zeduan (1085 -1145). The 3D animation, which brought to life the bustling city of possibly Kaifeng (capital of Northern Song Dynasty, 960 -1127), was first unveiled at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. Song Dynasty (960 - 1279) is known to be the most culturally harmonious, artistic and peaceful era in Chinese history. It is also probably the most advanced civilization at that time.

English translation of the Lyrics of the philosophical  background song in the video, entitled "Hold On To Our Roots", on the importance of our heritage and NEVER TO FORGET OUR ROOTS AND WHERE WE CAME FROM.

 <Hold On To Our Roots>

Lyrics:

How many faces, dazed and followed the flow?

 What are they chasing after?

For making a living,

people are running everywhere but come across in destiny.

With how many years, condensed into this moment,

look forward to the old dreams to come true again.

 Thousands drips of water eventually gathered to form a river,

just like a song of surge.

Year after year, Ah! Living the whole life time is just for this day!

Let the kin be reunited again,

wipe out the blood and tears in our heart; and hold onto our roots.

Summary: We all grow in different directions,

but our roots keep us all together.
