Since the Vietnam War, there have been no independent global initiatives to build up and sustain an international NGO peace movement to create Not a Third Force threatening the superpowers, but a BUFFER Force to reduce tension and prevent the escalation of local or regional conflicts into a nuclear World War 3.
UN (which should still be supported as better than none) has failed miserably in its core mission due to seemingly irreconcilable differences between the big powers, its undemocratic structure and other factors, making it quite impotent to do much and be able to prevent World War 3.
Yes, there are many peace initiatives, mostly at local level, in the form of peace philanthropy, peace galleries and museums (which should be supported anyway) but they have little global impact, perhaps due to a lack of understanding & analysis of the causes of wars & conflicts and also, a lack of a holistic, integrated & comprehensive approach to promote world peace that is sustainable.
Part of the reason why the world today is in such a mess is due to the lack of statesmen like leadership.
Napoleon Bonaparte once lamented that there were so few statesmen in this world.
According to this great French historic leader, statesmen were those who would not only show true greatness in Exercising Power but they would also Not resort to displaying absolute Pettiness (using race, religion, jingoism & gender, etc.) to Gain Power.
Man-made Climate Change is ALSO becoming a serious threat that may make Human Beings to become an extinct species on this planet.
Furthermore, man-made Cultural (Racial & Religious) Conflicts & Extremism, if they are not countered or addressed properly, can also undermine global unity to do good & exacerbate the destruction of Human Civilization as we know it.
Most politicians would therefore, NOT qualify to be true statesmen. Instead, many of them, especially the religious extremists, jingoists & racial supremacists, would be a source of conflicts, cultural discord, economic regression & environmental destruction.
Ipech Museum Project takes a holistic approach to incorporate the following essential elements to achieve sustainable world peace:
- social justice & equity
- protection of environment & harmony with nature
- full respect for cultural diversity & heritage
- full respect for sovereignty of every country
- compassion for the weak, poor & needy
We are literally racing against time based on current events and escalation of conflicts around the world. We must do Much More to come out with more impactful approaches to save Humanity from Extinction.
